If you read my website or know me personally you know and understand my passion and deep desire to help people heal themselves, relieve stress and feel healthy. Recently in the last month or so I have been dealing with a serious health concern that had me really look at the food I was putting into my body. I was already eating pretty healthy and was still having some health issues. There is a huge body of work that supports how gluten really affects the body/mind. I went off of gluten/wheat 2 weeks ago. I wasn't eating a ton of it, but the little I was eating was still affecting me. Since the 2 weeks I can say I feel amazing, my body/mind have so much clarity. A clarity I noticed wasn't there before. I would notice my brain felt a bit a foggy each time I ate wheat/gluten. In addition I have noticed that after years of doing massage many healing insights are gained from my massage sessions with clients. I am in the process of writing a more in depth article, so for now I will share a lil bit of what has occurred to me and through me as a result of going off gluten and cutting out all processed food, dairy and meat out of my diet. Sugar and I pretty much parted ways a while ago. A bigger process of my own healing literally guided me into these realizations and I share them with a deep knowledge and reverence for helping people feel good, inside and out. So when I say you are what you eat, I mean it because I experience it myself and I also see it and feel it when I massage clients. I offer this little bit in hopes that it will spark a greater awareness in the food/drink that people are eating and drinking. Much love!
Welcome to the food journey that is you You are what you eat. Literally. All that you eat and drink gets processed and digested into life giving nutrients and energy to run your body /mind. There is no separation between what you eat/drink and you. So it makes sense to eat food that is truly healthy and organic. Your body is a temple. Food is meant to nurture and give nutrients and energy, an altar offering of your prayer to yourself is what you put into yourself in food and drink. Think of it like an investment for yourself. We come into this world as pure potential energy. We are made of this pure potential energy and it carries a vibration and frequency to it…much like a radio has different frequencies to it..so do we and so does food/drink. The more natural organic food carries a higher healthier frequency or vibration. When you eat lower vibration food your body/mind becomes more susceptible to stress, illness and disease.What are lower vibration foods? Anything that is processed is lower vibration. When a food has to be processed or additives and chemicals put into it takes away the natural energy giving nutrients of the food. So lower vibration foods are things processed like breads, pastas, dairy, baked goods, meat, sweets. Just because it says organic still does not mean is great for you because it can be organic and still be processed, still have the life giving nutrients stripped away. It can say organic pasta on it but if the pasta has been processed to white pasta, then there is very little nutritional substance in it. it’s the same with sugar any version of sugar. In fact there is nothing nutritional in sugar at all. Same thing with meat and dairy. Especially if it is processed, pasteurized dairy or non-organic meat. Yet from a vibrational energy scale...meat and dairy are low on the vibration scale, they take a tremendous amount of energy for your body to digest, even in organic form.

Good Morning Redding and beyond. Today can you feel into your body, feel your whole structure, really get into the feeling-ness of BEING in your body? Often times when I am giving massage and come across tight, bound muscles or trigger points of pain, clients will say to me, "You can feel that? Or I didn't know I so tight and sore". This to me is an interesting lesson in body awareness and how much people are not in their bodies and only up in their head disengaged from other parts of themselves. It is possible to make a shift from brain thinking and to bring the awareness into the body. This helps you feel into yourself throughout your whole body. Many tend to forget there is anything below the head and this is why I get those comments above. So today really feel into your skin, deeper than your skin, Use your whole body thinking and feeling and massage yourself with your awareness of every part of you. ♥

Your Head weighs 10-15 lbs and that puts a great deal of pressure on your neck and shoulder muscles. Unless you are doing regular yoga stretches(at least 20 slow seconds on neck muscles) and getting regular skilled massage therapy, your neck and shoulder muscles are going to get tired, stressed and sore. Plus if your posture is out of alignment and improper, this too affects the stress and strain on your muscles. Regular skilled and focused massage on the neck helps lengthen muscles, relieve pressure. It also helps to break up tight, bound up areas in the neck and shoulders. Feel this into your own neck and shoulders!
**Whiplash**injuries from car accidents can cause pain and suffering, even years after car accidents. if you haven't had truly specific focused work for releasing scar tissue and freeing up bound muscle tissue, other muscles in the neck and shoulders can also be affected and cause chronic pain and tightness.
A skilled and advanced massage session is one in which a massage therapist is trained to understand the anatomy of the neck and shoulders. Not a simple understanding of general anatomy but rather understands the flow of how they all work together and also isn't afraid to dive into the neck and shoulders. There is also a skill in understanding the ebb and flow of pressure in the neck area as well. Because not all necks are created equal, deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy is not always the best treatment for massage in the neck and shoulder area. This is because sometimes the delicacy of the neck muscles can cause spasming in response to deep work.
This is where presence and awareness on the part of the massage therapist is important. Hello Redding, Ca and beyond. Today I am posting about all different types of massage therapy. Massage is more than many people realize as we can massage ourselves with our own habits from the outside in and inside out. In my massage benefits article I write about how massage truly benefits the mind/ body on all levels. Yet there are so many things a person can do in their own lives before they come to receive a massage. These practices help your mind/body stay relaxed and will actually help you receive a massage better. So lets start with massage from the inside out.
- Breathing therapy, slowing your breathing down and consciously using it inside to massage yourself,helps your muscles relax. Our breath is an internal massage tool. Using your inner vision and your minds eye combined with your breath is a powerful tool to help you and your muscles feel less stressed.
- Meditation Therapy, In a slow stillness meditation you actually massage your inside by re-training your inner muscles to relax. Energy follows thoughts so as you train your mind to be still and calm it trickles through to your muscles too.
- Eating Therapy. Your muscles LOVE good nutrition and things like processed food and sugar can cause them to ache and spasm from toxic build up.
- Drink lots of water therapy. Drinks like coffee and sugary cause muscle spasms and pain too...water helps keep the muscles hydrated and relaxed. We are made of 80% water!
- Epsom Salt Bath Therapy. These baths help with flushing your muscles inside as the water in your body will follow the salt. This can help you be less sore because the salt helps flush out toxins in the body that cause your muscles to spasm.
- Hydrotherapy. Finish your showers on cold water. The cold water causes your muscles to contract and this creates a sponge like effect in the body there by flushing out toxins and helping the muscles to relax.
